TECHnical PREParation, or Tech Prep, is an educational program which provides job training that gets high school graduates into the job market in high-tech, high-skill jobs in just two years. Any high school student in grades 9-12 can participate. Students review and choose a career path of interest and begin earning tuition-free college credits while they are still in high school. The program concludes with a one, two, or four-year post-secondary certificate, Associate of Applied Science or Bachelor degree at a community college or four-year university. Weatherford College currently offers Tech Prep programs in a variety of areas, including agriculture, business, child development, computers, criminal justice, and engineering technology. Check with your high school counselor to find out which programs your high school offers. Some Weatherford College Class of 2003 graduates who earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Engineering Technology received annual starting salaries of up to $50,000!
